Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-07-11 · applies to the Discount Debunker browser extension and this website
Discount Debunker does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any user data. Period.
No network activity
The extension makes zero network requests. It has no backend, no analytics, no telemetry, and no accounts. There is no infrastructure that your data could be sent to.
What it reads
To find fake reference prices and savings claims to redact, the extension reads the text content of web pages you visit — locally, inside your browser. Nothing it reads ever leaves your machine.
What it stores
Only your own settings: the on/off switch, the redaction mode, and the
list of sites you disabled it on. They live in Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.sync, which syncs through your own Google
account like any extension setting. The developer has no access to it.
Permissions, explained
storage— saves the settings above.activeTab— lets the popup show and toggle the site you're currently viewing. No page content is accessed through it.- Access to all sites — fake discounts appear on any shop in any country, so the content script runs everywhere by default. It only reads page text and applies styling, locally.
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the change will be published here and in the extension's changelog before any new behavior ships.
